Climate Action at the 2026 Travelers Annual Shareholder MeetingJoin us next Wednesday, May 20th for a climate action outside the Travelers Insurance annual shareholder meeting.
Despite years of pressure from financial professionals and climate advocates, companies like Travelers have refused to adopt real climate policies. In 2024, Travelers had $1.9 billion invested in high-emitting companies. Increasing insurance rates and reducing insurance coverage in high-risk markets transfers the financial burden of climate change to policyholders, investors, and taxpayers. This year there is a shareholder resolution being heard that would require Travelers to disclose their risk associated with climate-related pricing and coverage decisions. When companies refuse to take real climate action, even when their investors insist on it, it lands on us to make sure these companies are held accountable for the climate damage they fuel. Insurance is all about risk, and the riskiest thing they can do is turn their back on the climate crisis. Let’s make sure they Insure OUR future, not fossil fuels. RSVP & detals are here |
CT 2026 Legislative Wrap upMay 6th marked the last day of Connecticut’s legislative session for 2026.
First and foremost, we want to thank every person who protested, testified, wrote a letter, called their legislator, came to a lobby day or even just shared information this session. It is because of you we have new legislation reigning in the unchecked power of ICE, renewing community solar programs, the implementation of universal absentee voting and so much more. This session, CCAG was focused on Democracy, Climate & Environment, Healthcare and Private Equity. We had many victories and some disappointments, you can view a few highlights here. Thank you for standing up and fighting back. We look forward to working with you all to continue to move forward. |
CT Voices Presents: A Roadmap to Fully Funded CommunitiesCT Voices Presents: A Roadmap to Fully Funded Communities.
Join us June 25th from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM for an enlightening event at Rose City Senior Center, Dining Room! Wondering why Connecticut has had billions of dollars in budget surpluses and yet we can’t invest in the things we need? At this event, we’ll share new research on the State’s fiscal controls (or what politicians are calling “fiscal guardrails”) that will shed light on how Connecticut can raise revenue to invest in all of our children and families. Child care, food and translation services while you learn and engage will be offered! RSVP so CT Voices can plan accordingly. |
