TRUST Act Now Visibility Days! Tues's & Wed's 11 am to 2 pmThe attacks on our immigrant communities are escalating, but so is our determination to build people power!
Join us for any of the upcoming “Community Visibility Days” at the Capitol Building in Hartford. During those days, supporters, allies, and personally impacted individuals are invited to talk with legislators about why they MUST protect our immigrant communities and pass a strengthened TRUST Act. What are we demanding from CT elected officials? Pass the TRUST Act (HB 7212), a bill that would protect our CT immigrant community from ICE abductions and protect CT local resources from being used to further mass deportations. Why is this important? We’re seeing ICE kidnap people from our communities and disappear them to foreign prisons. We must demand that our CT Elected officials stand on the right side of history. Never been to the Capitol before or spoken with legislators? No worries! TRUST Act Now! Coalition leaders will be present to guide all attendees! The time is now for a TRUST Act that works for the people. Sign up for a shift and see more details here. |
Insure Our Future: Shareholder Day of Action 5/21![]() CCAG, alongside many climate finance advocates, have been leading the charge to pressure property and casualty insurers to end their underwriting and investments in fossil fuels.
On May 21st, our two biggest targets - Travelers and The Hartford - will be holding their annual shareholder meetings.
Join us on Wednesday, May 21st, in downtown Hartford, to have a large presence both outside and inside these crucial shareholder meetings. RSVP here to receive updated information about timing and location. At 8:30 AM we will meet outside the Marriott Hotel in downtown Hartford to hand out flyers to shareholders and employees as they enter the meeting. At 11AM we will drive over to The Hartford office (1 Hartford Plaza, Hartford, CT 06115) to protest their recent policy denials of Environmental Groups, and their underwriting of fossil fuel projects. Insurance is all about risk, and the riskiest thing they can do is turn their back on the climate crisis. Let’s make sure they Insure OUR future, not fossil fuels. |

Now, we protect that promise by securing funding for the SOTS to implement the CTVRA! Please see the Fact Sheet for you to circulate as well as background on the CTVRA itself. Feel free to print these for the spring fling this week! Join us at the Capitol on Wednesday, May 21st for a Lobby Day to Fund the CTVRA. Help us send a clear message: Connecticut must protect the promise of equitable voting rights by funding the CTVRA.
