Stop Republican Lies, Protect Our AirConnecticut is proposing adoption of updated emissions standards for cars and new emissions standards for trucks.
DEEP has drafted regulations to implement this law, and these must now be approved by the Regulatory Review Committee. Republican lawmakers are repeating Koch brothers talking points and spreading misinformation about these regs, so it is important to make your voice heard! Click here to tell the Committee to approve DEEP’ standards as written -- and plan to attend the public hearing, Nov. 28, at 10:30 am in Room 1E of the Legislative Office Building. These standards will make new cars and trucks up to 90% cleaner, and will require vehicle manufacturers to deliver more zero-emission vehicles and other advanced technology vehicles to Connecticut drivers while also increasing consumer protections. Beginning in 2027, the proposed standards would apply to new vehicles only, not to used cars, and do not prohibit owning diesel or gas-powered vehicles. These standards will improve public health, help Connecticut achieve our greenhouse gas emissions reduction commitments, and strengthen the state’s economy. Click here to RSVP for the hearing 11/28, and here to send your message for the Regulatory Review Committee to approve DEEP's proposed regulations today. |
