Disparities in
American
Health Care:
The Audacity of Hope
The Health Resources and Services Administration defines health disparities as “population-specific differences in the presence of disease, health outcomes, or access to health care†based on “personal, socioeconomic, and environmental characteristics of different ethnic and racial groups.†Despite major advances in medical technology in recent years, there is a widening gap in access to quality health care. Health care disparity has become one of the most critical political issues of our century, and solving it requires the support of everyday citizens.
Community residents, doctors, politicians, and activists are invited to participate in an open dialogue about American health care. Footage from the event will be featured in the hour-long documentary film, Disparities in American Health Care: The Audacity of Hope, a tool to help educate viewers as well as a vehicle for the voices of ordinary people. Join us in igniting a wave of activism in Hartford to achieve universal health care.
This is a unique opportunity to share your experiences nationwide.
Please come and add your voice to the conversation.
