NEW HAVEN, CT – October 18, 2007 – URU, The Right To Be Inc. invites you to join us and participate in the filming of an honest and straightforward, tell-it-like-it-happens-to-you discussion surrounding our national health care crisis. Footage from this event will be featured in the documentary film, Disparities in American Health Care: The Audacity of Hope.
On Thursday, October 18th, Patricia Baker (President and CEO, Connecticut Health Foundation) and Juan A. Figueroa (President, Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut) will moderate audience members as they tell real stories, push for action, and identify solutions.
The event, at Congregation Mishkan Israel 785 Ridge Road Hamden, CT, will begin at 5:30PM.
Creator, Executive Producer, and New Haven Director, Crystal Emery says “despite major advances to medical technology in recent years, people of color have less access to quality health care than white Americans. Nonetheless, politicians continue to cut taxes, sap the federal budget with deficit, and reallocate funding away from public health programs.â€
This film is targeted for national distribution to educate viewers about health care inequalities. It offers communities and individuals tools for closing the disparity gap. Your input is invaluable for bringing about change!
URU, The Right To Be Inc., is a charitable 501(C)3 organization. We utilize the arts to challenge hearts and minds towards change.
