In conjunction with the end to the Iraq Summer campaign, we will be challenging Senator Joe Lieberman and Congressman Chris Shays to "Take A Stand" on ending the War on Iraq. At 4:00 PM, we will begin door to door canvassing in Joe Lieberman's new neighborhood and welcoming him back to Stamford. We will regroup at 6:30 PM for a brief program.
As the September timeline draws closer we need to send a clear message to Shays and Lieberman about ending the war now.
We will organize shuttle service from the Metro North Station -- carpooling is encouraged. People are planning to decorate their cars for the drive to Stamford.
Congressman Shays' office has expressed initial interest in an Iraq forum sometime on a weekend in September -- we are trying to work out a mutually agreeable format and details.
The report, titled “Getting U.S. Back on Track†and authored by the USAction Education Fund, illustrates, how CT's cost of war is now at $11.1 billion of the $456 billion in total funding for the Iraq war according to a newly released report.
