Protecting the Integrity and Security of the Voting Process – CT is now in the process of phasing out the old lever voter machines and moving towards optical scan machines. CCAG supported SB1311 that set forth important standards and requirements for audits and recounts so that the public can be more confident that their votes have been properly counted and that the new machines are working properly. We are very pleased that SB1311 passed and was signed into law by Gov. Rell. Last years congressional race in eastern CT was decided by less than 100 votes and failing to have such protections in place would have undermined the public’s confidence in the voting process.
